Anyone who uses Teamleader Focus knows that a project module is one of the strongest points. It's a great way to plan and track your work, maintain related documents, and ultimately invoice all your work. Whatever the nature of the project, the project module adapts to your way of working. But the project module is only accessible to account users. There is no standard solution for providing access to customers or other parties. We are going to develop something for that.
Projecthub is a platform that exists separately from Teamleader Focus. You create an account as a manager and you need to connect Projecthub to your Teamleader Focus account. Once the connection is successful, all projects from Teamleader Focus are automatically retrieved and displayed. For each project, you can indicate whether you want to make this project public. Once the public is placed, only customers who are linked to the project can access the project information. Customers can do this via Projecthub.
Here they don't have to create an account, just fill in an email address. Projecthub checks whether that email address in the system is known as a customer for a public project. If so, the customer will receive a secure link by email to log in and access the platform. Here, the customer can see the division of work, check the progress of the project and upload files that will automatically enter Teamleader Focus.
To build a web application like Projecthub, we start with a plan. This plan includes the desired functionalities, the necessary tools and knowledge and a schedule. This is followed by the design of the interface, which in this case was developed in Figma. Once all components have been designed, they are used to build static web pages in Webflow. Although the platform now has a visual identity, not much is happening yet.
To make the platform dynamic, we use Wized. This tool adds a layer to the static web pages that allows logic such as API requests to be executed. The entire Projecthub backend is being built in Xano. Xano takes over the task of API, server and database. With Webflow, Wized and Xano (also known as the WWX Stack), we can expand and scale up the entire Projecthub platform.
